As you are aware we are organizing a celebratory event to mark the 75th birthday of Prof. Sudhakar Nadkarni.
The event is free and open to everyone - please feel free to land up. (The post-event socializing dinner is open only to those who have financially contributed to the Felicitation event).
As most of us know, Prof. Nadkarni is one of the most influential figures in the history of Indian design education which began in post-Independence era.
Prof. Nadkarni has a lion's share in the creation of IDC (Industrial Design Center) - one of the two pioneering design Institutions of India (the other being NID). and continues to be energetically involved in promoting design in India.
Prof. Nadkarni recently turned 75, and we folks at the Association of Designers of India thought that this was a good time to come together to meet and appreciate one of the pioneers of post-Independence Indian Design education.
For some of us, who have studied under his guidance, it will be a celebration of the honor of having been his direct student. For some of us who know him, it will be the celebration of the man's contribution to Indian design. For those who have not met him, it will be a golden chance to have a glimpse of this rare man, a charming gentleman who is so dynamic, intuitive, direct and honestly outspoken to a fault. Just to be near Prof. Nadkarni is to be infected by his energy, enthusiasm and zest for design. A born leader - he is universally respected by all those who know him.
You are invited to this event, where you may get a glimpse of this much-loved and respected grand old design academician of India.

To cover the cost of the Felicitation and post-Felicitation dinner, we welcome contributions of at least Rs. 1000 per head.
The post-felicitation Dinner is open and complimentary to those who have financially contributed to making the event possible.
(While your contributions of Rs. 1000+ shall be also be collected at the venue, we appreciate if you could send in your contributions well in advance to make it possible for us to book your seat for the post-event dinner. While we shall book a minor number of additional seats at the dinner Venue, and some members may contribute at venue itself and join in at the limited dinner seats, we do not guarantee a dinner seat for everyone who does not contribute in advance).
Note: Kindly note that you may send in contributions towards the felicitation regardless of whether you are joining in for the dinner. When you make your contributions, kindly just let us know whether you will be joining us for the dinner as well.
Due to the uncertainty of the number of participants and funds we have arranged for cocktails / drinks on a pay-per-drink basis. The contribution collected will be utilised for a four course dinner with Prof Nadkarni and other program expenses.
